Monday Feb 17, 2025
We did it, we finally got off our backsides and recorded the final episode of the 1989 season, which focusses almost exclusively on the Hawks 1989 Premiership triumph. We go through quarter by quarter as well as debate whether it is in fact the greatest Grand Final of all time.
We chat a little about the Bulldogs potential merger before finishing our final VFL episode.
Thanks for hanging in there
We will be back for the 2025 season soon.

Here is part 2 of our look at the 1989 VFL Football season (there will also be a part 3 soon). We take a look at the 5 finalists here, and get stuck into the bombers resurgence, the Cats with some absolutely massive wins, and the Hawks machine just keeps on rolling. We also talk about the Brownlow and retrospective Brownlows awarded in 89.

We have arrived at the final season of VFL football, a season of football etched in the annals of history. To celebrate, here is part 1/3 of our take on the season. So we talk about the bottom 8 teams, and get into The Bears' coaching scramble, the terrible weather, Plugger's dominant first half of the year, Carlton's 125th year as a disaster, and Greg Williams' dominance (when not suspended).

1988 Part 2
Monday Nov 25, 2024
Monday Nov 25, 2024
Here we are with the second part of the 1988 season (sorry for the delay). We'll dive into the top 5 before really discussing the finals. We learned about a controversial preliminary final we had never known about and we discuss the dominance of Hawthorn, a vintage Dermie year... in what was an incredibly dominant season. All this and more in the episode.
We have had quite the issue with our software as of late, and this was our second take recording this. It is quite frustrating at times, so many apologies for that. The issue will be fixed for the 89 season.

Thursday Nov 07, 2024
In the first part of our focus on the 1988 VFL season, we get back to our roots and discuss the teams that finished the season 14th-6th. This includes rule changes, Tony Lockett throwing crutches, the rain in Queensland, KB now coaching the Tigers, Ablett kicking bags for the Cats, and the Swans putting bets on themselves. All this and more in our welcome return to form.
Also many apologies for the clipping at the beggining and start of the episode.
